Every diatonic chord will also contain the 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th note of the scale and can also be used as anchors.

We will call this Chord Change Anchor 234.

If there are non-diatonic chords the b5 and #5 and b2 or #2 (better known as b9 and #9) may also be present.

In example 9a the key is Eb major and the anchor notes are F (2), G (3), Ab (4),   and are at the bottom of all the chords.
